About Gourab Mitra

Gourab Mitra is the youngest in his family. His parents are Late Mr. Swapan Mitra and Mrs. Kumkum Mitra. His mother has expertise as sweater-maker. His grandmother Late Mrs. Nilima Anilkumar Sinha was a veteran nurse, expert sweater-maker! She is also a good singer. She has been an inspiration for Gourab. His elder brother, Mr. Anirban Mitra, works with JustDial, Pune.

Gourab Mitra, 26 year old Freelance Television Script & Screenplay Writer & is pursuing 2nd Year Bachelor of Science from S.M. Joshi College (Hadapsar, Pune). He started writing Film script in 2004 when he was standard 8th in St. Patrick’s High School (Pune). Currently, he is engaged in writing Comedy Classes (Life Ok) & Ajab Gajab Ghar Jamai with his good friend, Dharmendra Singh.

He marked his debut in fiction literature with Dual Lives, published by Partridge India, and is available on Amazon, Flipkart and other online bookstore!

Due to Financial difficulties, he started off his career as a Cybercafé Operator, then as software tester, later turning to a freelance Web Designer.

But still he didn’t leave writing, directing and acting. His first play was a Marathi-Hindi Situcom Play called Ghodyavar Ghoda (Horse v/s Horse). He wrote the concept, and later Swapnil Dangmali and Anurag Sutar developed it and made it successful in Annual College Gathering in 2007. These three also directed the play, and also enacted a character.  At that point of time he was in 11th Standard. Later he also did another Marathi play, ‘Adhaadhavat’ (half-incomplete).

He joined Swatantra theatre (Pune), as 2nd Assistant Director, Writer and Actor for project like Zindagi ke Rang. Later he also worked as 2nd Assistant Director of Daily Television Series “Miley jab Hum Tum”, under Mr. Sundeep Sharma and Rafeeq Shaikh for Endemol India, aired on Star One.

In between, he also worked with many BPOs, namely, Tracmail (India) Pvt. Ltd (Pune), Concentrix (Formerly known as IBM, Pune) and Serco Malad. And currently he is working with FirstSource to support his financial needs.
