Gourab Mitra is the youngest son of Late Mr. Swapan Mitra and Mrs. Kumkum Mitra. His mother has expertise as sweater-maker. His grandmother Late Mrs. Nilima Anilkumar Sinha was a veteran nurse, expert sweater-maker, with melodious voice. She inspired Gourab towards creative works. He started writing Film scripts in 2004 at the age of 13. His elder brother, Mr. Anirban Mitra, works with JustDial, Pune.
Gourab Mitra, 28 year old is a Freelance Television Screenwriter by choice, and College dropout by circumstances. He has written scripts Bal Gopal Kare Dhamaal, Akbar Birbal and Ajab Gajab Ghar Jamai with his good friend, Dharmendra Singh, for Big Magic Channel.
He has written Romance Fiction novel Dual Lives, published by Partridge India in 2016, which available on major online bookstores.
Due to Financial difficulties, he started off as a Cybercafé Operator, then worked as software tester, later turning to a freelance Web Designer.
He continued pursuing his dream as writer, director and actor. His first play was a Marathi-Hindi Situcom Play called Ghodyavar Ghoda (Horse v/s Trigger). He wrote the concept, and later Swapnil Dangmali and Anurag Sutar developed it and made it successful in Annual College Gathering in 2007. The trio directed as well as enacted a character in the play. Later he did another Marathi play, ‘Adhaadhavat’ (half-incomplete).
He joined Swatantra theatre (Pune), as 2nd Assistant Director, Writer and Actor for project like Zindagi ke Rang. Later he also worked as 2nd Assistant Director of Daily Television Series “Miley jab Hum Tum”, under Mr. Sundeep Sharma and Rafeeq Shaikh for Endemol India, aired on Star One from August 2010 to November 2010.
To finanical independence, he worked with various BPOs, viz., Tracmail (India) Pvt. Ltd (Pune), Aegis (Pune), Concentrix (Formerly known as IBM, Pune) and Serco (Malad).
Currently he is working with FirstSource Solutions LTD., Malad, as MIS Analyst. He is writing few movie scripts for Kanhaiya Productions and few other production houses. He is also working on pre-production of his webseries. Soon he is expected to complete his first fantasy novel, which would eventually become trilogy.
